Terfenol-D磁致伸縮形變測試及應(yīng)用研究Experimental Research on Magnetostrictive Strain Property of Terfenol-D Rod and its Application

基于準(zhǔn)靜態(tài)條件下線性磁致伸縮理論,對φ7 mm×20 mm的Terfenol-D試樣,在其軸向施加0、0.045、0.156、0.662、6.9 MPa壓應(yīng)力和0~3 A直流電磁激勵條件下的磁致伸縮形變特性進(jìn)行了測試,測得試樣的最大軸向形變量可分別達(dá)到4.98 μm、7.94 μm、8.64 μm、14.74 μm和19.7μm.實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果表明:磁致應(yīng)變量隨壓應(yīng)力載荷增加而明顯放大;磁致應(yīng)變輸出效率隨壓應(yīng)力載荷的不同而發(fā)生變化,并具有優(yōu)選勵磁范圍.該結(jié)果為進(jìn)一步的在驅(qū)動器設(shè)計(jì)時選定預(yù)壓應(yīng)力載荷和確定勵磁電流強(qiáng)度范圍提供了實(shí)驗(yàn)依據(jù).文中對已試制出的基于試樣的驅(qū)動器樣機(jī)作了簡介。

This paper presents the research work into the strain property of small-sized giant magnetostrictive material (GMM) sample and into its application to the design of centimeter-sized magnetostrictive actuator. Based on the empirical quasi-static magnetostrictive linear equation, the GMM sample of φ7 mm×20 mm Terfenol-D rod was experimented on its magnetostrictive strain property by preloading/prestressing in its axial direction at 0, 0.045, 0.156, 0.662, 6.9 MPa respectively and under magnetic excitation induced by DC current of 0~3 A. As a result, the axial direction displacements of the sample rod achieved were 4.98 μm, 7.94 μm, 8.64 μm, 14.74 μm and 19.7 μm correspondingly. It is proved accordingly that the magnetostrictive strain capacity of the material is evidently enlarged with the increase of stress load and the magnetostrictive strain output efficiency varies with the change of stress load and can be optimized by limiting the range of magnetic excitation. The findings of the present research provide important experimental basis for determining prestress load and the range of field excitation current in the design of magnetostrictive actuator. Finally, on the basis of the earlier experimental rod, we designed and made the prototype mini-actuator as shown in Fig.5.
